Paramus Pest Control

Paramus presents a unique dual pest challenge: intense commercial pest pressure from its massive retail and restaurant corridor, and suburban residential pressure from its well-established neighborhoods. The Route 4 and Route 17 intersection—one of the busiest retail corridors in the country—generates enormous food waste and loading dock activity that sustains large Norway rat and German cockroach populations. Pest activity from the shopping strips along these highways regularly migrates into adjacent residential streets.

The Saddle River, which flows through the borough's western neighborhoods past Saddle River County Park, creates moist riparian conditions that support odorous house ants, mosquitoes, and rodents in homes along Farview Avenue, Paramus Road, and the streets bordering the park. Many of Paramus's ranch-style homes from the 1950s and 1960s have concrete slab foundations with expansion joint gaps and buried wood debris—ideal conditions for subterranean termite entry. The large commercial properties along Routes 4 and 17 also attract American cockroaches into their sewer systems, which can surface in nearby residences. Mosquito activity peaks along the Saddle River corridor through July and August.
