Baychester Pest Control

Baychester sits in the northeastern corner of the Bronx, bounded by Co-op City to the north, the Hutchinson River Parkway to the east, and Pelham Bay Park to the southeast. The neighborhood's housing — primarily attached brick homes and colonials from the 1950s and 1960s along Baychester Avenue, Adee Avenue, and Tillotson Avenue — has a more suburban character than much of the Bronx, with small yards and some undeveloped wooded lots that support wildlife and tick populations.

Pelham Bay Park's extensive woodlands lie within walking distance of Baychester's eastern blocks, and deer tick populations in the park and its border areas create real tick risk for homeowners with properties adjacent to or near wooded areas. Wildlife from the park — raccoons, opossums, and wild turkeys — regularly enter Baychester yards and sometimes access homes through deteriorating soffits and vent covers. Rodents are present throughout the neighborhood, particularly in homes near the Boston Post Road commercial corridor where food establishments generate attractants. Ants are a spring and summer nuisance in Baychester's single-family and attached homes, which typically have yard access that facilitates colony establishment near foundations.
